A faxnode is like a simplified Stargate. The user inputs a faxnode number into the user interface, and is faxed to that location. There are 317 functioning faxnodes on Earth. According to Savi, faxnodes are not quantum teleportation devices - the user is scanned and that data is transmitted to the destination faxnode; the user at the origination point is disintegrated, and reconstructed at the destination point.
